Brief History of Nigeria Police Staff Hospital Osogbo

The Nigeria police staff hospital is a hospital under the Nigeria police Medical services of the Nigeria police force, it was established in 1992 as a clinic, rendering health services to only the police community in Osogbo, Osun state police command, it was formerly located at Dugbe divisional police station, as the clinic grew in the number of patients seeking health care at the clinic, the clinic was upgraded to a hospital status and moved to it's new and permanent site at G.R.A Oke-Fia Osogbo.

The hospital renders both primary and secondary health services and it is accredited by the National Health Insurance Scheme(NHIS). it's secondary services includes Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Surgery, Internal Medicine and Public health services. It now provides health care to police officers and their families and also to the General Public.


About Nigeria Police Medical Service

The Nigeria Police Medical Service (NPMS) came into existence in 1975 with the mandate of taking care of the health needs of the police personnel, their families, persons in custody, and the general public in times of emergencies and disasters.

About Present Force Medical Officer

The present Force Medical Officer CP. Dr. Emmanuel Garba Nzukwem, is the 15th Force Medical Officer in the history of Nigeria Police Medical services(NPMS) and has promised to build on the existing Vision and Mission in order to make the department the best on what it was established for.

He was enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force in 1997 as a Medical Officer with the rank of Assistance Superintendent of police after the one year mandatory youth service in 1993 at Buni yadi, yobe state. He has served in the NPMS in different capacities and was head of various health facilities in the force, He is a season medical practitioner with experience.

He was once the contingent medical officer on peacekeeping mission in many countries with the wealth of his medical experience the NPMS deserve his stewardship to move forward and embrace modern medical practices.


About Medical Officer Police Staff Hospital Osogbo

ACP. Dr. Adagbasa Ehimare, MBBS,MPH,MWACP, is the Medical Officer in charge of Nigeria Police Staff Hospital, Osun State Command.

A medical Doctor and public Health Expert. He is also currently the head the of the following offices the Nigeria Police Force Epidemiologist, the Force National Coordinator of Police Action Committee on Hiv/Aids (PACA) and the Force Head of Public Health Unit of the Nigeria Police Force.

Apart from the above he has been part of various committees which includes but not limited to:

- Member of Osun state Emergency preparedness and response committee for covid-19 in year 2020.

- Member of Osun State response committee for LASA Fever in year 2019
